Final Digipak

Production Diary 4

Today we had to present a selection of the music videos we had chosen as a group to the class, whilst the other group were presenting we had to think about potential ideas for that music video. We also told the other group which song we thought had the most potential. The feedback we got from the other group was:

Ed Sheeran - Drunk
For this song we all came up with the idea of flashbacks of a possible night before or a stressed businessman who has got drunk and we would film some of the things he gets up to when his drunk. There was also the idea of it being filmed in black and white as some members felt this suited the song better, we also got the idea that some of it could be shot as in its from a CCTV camera. Due to the rhythm of the song we felt the camera would constantly have to keep moving so there would be 360 degree shots. there was also an idea of possibly making the entire video or parts of it backwards, to portray reflection. The final idea is that we could add some performace to the video as the artist sitting in the background or foreground playing a guitar.

Pegasus Bridge - Skinny
The feedback for this song was the idea of the artist almost constantly following/looking/admiring a girl that he likes, this will then include close ups of the artist and in the background the women in different locations. Then there was also the idea that the artist could be invisible to the women.

Soul - Express Yourself
This song had one of the most positive feedbacks, we all came up with the idea of the artist being in different locations (possibly london) and walking up to random people with an "express yourself" sign the person would then react to this. The viewers would never get to see the sign until the end of the song. There was also an idea of almost like a pied piper theme where everyone would follow this character holding an "express yourself" sign, giving this happy and jolly atmosphere which matches the song.

Lucy Rose - Bikes
The last video also had very possitive feedback we came up with the idea of going on like a daytrip to a location but filming it in lots of different places e.g. lighthouse, sea, in the car etc. In the video there would be a big group of friends all on this day out enjoying themselves doing different things depending on what location they were at. Another option was instead of the beach was a fairground again the same principle of a group of friends going out. Some people felt the video should be very colourful and lively but also make the video go through the times e.g. at the start of the video be early in the morning and then at the end it to be at night. Although it may not give the same uplifting feel if we film it in October as aposed to during the summer months.
