Today I had an appointment at the orthodontist so unfortunately i was absent from todays lesson. Phil and sarah worked on the timings for the song and they had encountered a problem where they had 15 seconds at the end of the song, therefore they checked over the previous timings to ensure that they were all correct.
Phil and Sarah had a conversation about their ideas for the video and came to the conclusion that all they were doing was making it alot harder for the group to produce a video, over complicating the whole thing. Doing this would have meant alot of travelling time would have been needed from place to place as all of these shots would have been shot in to many different places due the our idea of 'Flashbacks'. Our initial idea was to show specific clips and scenes in reverse and to keep referring to flashbacks although thinking about this for a long time we dediced that this could cause not only confusing for the audience but also for us when filming the shots.
After forgetting about this previous idea they were talking about having the main character as a 'drunken tramp' showing how he became in this state in the first place although this was quickly disagreed on as it would show that we may be stereotyping. doing something like this could make the video look very amateur and cheesy which will relate in the audience showing know interest in this at all. The hardest thing with this idea would be showing reference between flashbacks and the present time as the shots will have to be distinctive and self explanatory, which will be difficult.
Finally we decided on a concept that would still allow us to perhaps make the audience get a preconcieved idea about the character but also what to watch the video to find out more, it is shot in normal chronological order (so no confusion), however we decided to make virtually the whole video in first person to create a new dynamic within the video.
